  The house was clean, well stocked, and comfortable. We were able to log on to our streaming apps on the downstairs TV, and WiFi was excellent. Loved the additions for children – the stairgate is such a clever idea and we needed it for our toddler. Very happy.

  The cottage definitely exceeded expectations.
  
  3 min walk from the heart of the rather useless but quaint Burley village. The road itself is quiet, low to moderate traffic. Just in case your dog is a barker, like ours….
  
  Immaculate dog secure garden, very clean and fresh, everything looking high spec – bbq, double oven, instant water heater, large flat screen telly with amazon prime etc (sort of wish it wasn't there, but kids were happy 🙂 ) Great water pressure and modern sink, bathroom and loo fittings – imho often undermining staycations in UK but five stars here.
  
  Comfy mattresses, pillows and crisp white linen.
  
  Helpful solid baby gate between living space downstairs and bedrooms upstairs. (No dogs upstairs)
  
  If you are bringing your dog and expect muddy weather perhaps bring your dog's bed plus a few throws or blankies to protect sofas as they are a very clean looking cream colour? We knew our young dalmatian would not 100 listen to no sofa 🙂 With muddy of sheddy best friends prep is key 🙂
  
  Forest trails start literally across the road. Jackpot location if you like a bit of a walk or hike. Komoot app worked well for choosing distances and was accurate, is free too.
  
  
  The wild ponies literally hang out on the street where the cottage is! Unreal.

  Helmsdale is a beautiful cottage in a fantastic location, just a few minutes walk into the middle of Burley village.
  It has a fully equipped kitchen, with an electric oven and hob, and the owner left a helpful welcome pack on arrival. The smaller twin room was made up into a double for our arrival, which suited our party.
  There is a croquet game for the garden and other board games and cards available too in the cottage.
  The downstairs toilet facility is also helpful as none of the rooms have ensuite facilities, but the family bathroom upstairs is huge, with a large walk-in shower and also has a shower head in the bath too.

  Beautiful house right in the centre of village life.
  The house was spotless warm well equipped and nicely decorated for Christmas.
  Bathroom was large with bath and shower.
  Bedrooms were warm and comfortable.
  Wi-Fi DAB radio and Netflix were an added bonous.
