Dreytop Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Dreytop in Ryde, you immediately get that feeling this place knows what it’s doing. It’s one of those four-star hotels that doesn’t try too hard — the kind where everything just feels right from the moment you step inside. The building has character without being stuffy, and honestly, the staff seem genuinely happy to see you rather than going through the motions. The reception area welcomes you with warm lighting and comfortable seating areas that invite you to relax from the very first moment.
The Location Magic
Here’s what I love about this spot — couples absolutely rave about the location, and I can see why. There’s something about being right in Ryde that gives you this perfect balance of seaside charm and actual things to do. You’re not stuck in some remote resort bubble, but you’re also not dealing with the chaos of a massive tourist trap. The Isle of Wight ferries are practically on your doorstep, which means you can actually explore the island properly without spending half your day figuring out transport. The surrounding area offers delightful coastal walks and charming local shops within easy walking distance.
The Room Experience
My room was exactly what you’d hope for — comfortable without being flashy, with those little touches that show someone actually thought about what guests need. The beds are properly comfortable (you know how hit-or-miss hotel beds can be), and there’s enough space to actually unpack your stuff without playing Tetris with your luggage. What really impressed me was the attention to detail — decent lighting for reading, plugs where you actually need them, and thoughtful storage solutions throughout. The ensuite bathrooms feature quality fixtures and generous towel supplies that add to the overall comfort.
Dining and Amenities
The restaurant serves food that’s actually worth eating, which honestly isn’t always a given with hotel dining. They focus on local ingredients when they can, and you can taste the difference. Breakfast hits all the right notes — proper coffee, fresh options, and they don’t rush you out the door. The whole place has this relaxed vibe where you can linger over your morning coffee and plan your day without feeling pressured. Evening meals showcase seasonal menus that celebrate the best of Isle of Wight produce.
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back to Dreytop is that it gets the fundamentals right while adding just enough personality to feel special. Recent guests consistently rate the location as exceptional, and after spending time here, I understand the enthusiasm. It’s positioned perfectly for exploring both Ryde itself and the wider Isle of Wight — you can walk to the beach, grab dinner at local pubs, or catch a ferry for day trips. The hotel manages to feel like a proper base for your adventures rather than just a place to sleep. That makes all the difference when you’re trying to make the most of your time away, creating memories that extend far beyond your accommodation experience.
Apartments on the Isle of Wight suit families craving kitchenettes, bike storage, and balconies facing the Solent.

Comfortable and Cosy – Summer from United Kingdom (9/10)
The apartment is in a great location, just a 5-minute walk to the front and a 10-minute walk to Ryde High Street. However, it is on a quiet road. The apartment has been beautifully renovated (I am in love with the kitchen tiles!) and is very warm, cosy and comfortable. The bathroom has a huge deluxe shower. We would definitely recommend it.

Great location and the flat was very pleasant to stay in. – Denise from United Kingdom (8/10)
The location was the main reason for booking this property. The flat was lovely and had everything we needed for our stay. The folder in the flat was useful too and we managed to park our car for the whole weekend in the location that was stated.
