Vegan Seafront Retreat & Yoga Studio in West Wittering Overview
First Impressions
When I first pulled up to the Vegan Seafront Retreat & Yoga Studio in West Wittering, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect — the name alone tells you this isn’t your typical four-star hotel. But stepping out of the car with the sea breeze hitting my face and that unmistakable sound of waves just beyond the dunes, I knew I’d found something special. The property sits right on East Strand, and I mean right there — you’re literally a two-minute walk from one of West Sussex’s most stunning beaches. There’s something refreshingly unpretentious about the whole setup, like they’re more focused on the experience than impressing you with marble lobbies.
The Vegan Philosophy
Now, I’ll be honest — I was a bit skeptical about the whole vegan angle at first. But you know what? The food here completely changed my perspective. The kitchen team actually knows what they’re doing, creating dishes that happen to be plant-based rather than trying to replicate meat with questionable substitutes. Breakfast was this gorgeous spread of locally-sourced ingredients, and I found myself genuinely excited about meals rather than just tolerating them. Even if you’re not vegan (I’m certainly not), the freshness and creativity of everything they serve makes it feel like a culinary adventure rather than a dietary restriction.
Location and Beach Access
West Wittering beach is honestly one of those places that makes you wonder why anyone bothers with crowded resort destinations. The sand stretches for miles, and on a clear day, you can see across to the Isle of Wight. What I loved most was how the hotel’s location puts you right in the sweet spot — close enough to walk to the main beach area when you want some activity, but far enough from the car parks to avoid the day-tripper crowds. The Wittering Estate owns much of the land around here, which means development is limited and the whole area maintains this unspoiled, almost timeless quality that’s increasingly rare along the English coast.
Wellness and Activities
The yoga studio isn’t just a token amenity — it’s clearly the heart of what this place is about. Morning sessions happen right as the sun comes up over the water, and I’m not usually one for early morning exercise, but there’s something about practicing yoga with that view that makes it worthwhile. They’ve also got a proper fitness center and, surprisingly, windsurfing equipment available. The game room provides a nice backup for those inevitable English weather moments, though honestly, I spent most of my time either on the beach or exploring the South Downs, which are just a short drive inland.
Why Couples Love It
I can absolutely see why this place scores so highly with couples — there’s an intimacy to the whole experience that larger hotels just can’t match. The combination of the beachfront setting, thoughtful food, and that slightly off-the-beaten-path location creates this perfect bubble where you can actually disconnect and focus on each other. Plus, having free parking on-site means you can easily explore the surrounding area — Chichester’s just 20 minutes away, and the whole Manhood Peninsula has these charming villages that most tourists never discover. It’s refined without being stuffy, peaceful without being boring.
Isle of Wight hotels keep guests near Needles chairlifts, Osborne House lawns, and coastal cycling trails.

Absolutely exceptional – Ciara from United Kingdom (10/10)
Where do I even start!
I had booked this stunning house for my 21st birthday for my friends/ family. Upon arrival we were all stunned by the beauty of the whole property. Everything exceeded our expectations from the cleanliness, comfortability, features/ facilities, location etc etc. Charles the home owner was unbelievably helpful, bubbly and accommodating. He was so easy to get in contact with and very quickly to reply. He even extended our stay for another 6 hours out of inconvenience of the hot tub being under construction, which was beyond kind. We all could’ve easily stayed longer and were so sad to leave! It made my birthday so so special, especially the sound systems generated throughout the house, which can get VERY loud. They were amazing. Could not recommend this property enough!!!!! Thank you Charles for an incredible weekend!Exceptional – W from Italy (10/10)
