The Old Village is right there too — you know, that postcard-perfect area with the thatched cottages and tea rooms that everyone comes to see. What I really appreciated was having free parking right on site, because let’s be honest, finding a spot in Shanklin during summer can be a proper nightmare.

The Apartment Experience

Each apartment here feels more like staying in a well-appointed friend’s place than a typical hotel room. The one I stayed in had this lovely bay window (hence the name, I suppose) that caught the morning light beautifully. The kitchen was actually functional — not just a token gesture with a kettle and mini-fridge, but proper cooking facilities if you want to grab some local produce from the village shops. The furnishings strike that perfect balance between comfortable and stylish, though I’d say it leans more toward cozy than contemporary.

Practical Comforts

What really impressed me was how quiet everything was, despite being so central. The soundproofing must be decent because even with the summer crowds wandering past, I slept like a baby. The Wi-Fi actually works properly (always a gamble with older buildings), and there’s plenty of storage space for longer stays. Honestly, the attention to detail shows — from the quality bed linens to the way they’ve managed to fit modern amenities into what’s clearly a period building without making it feel awkward.

  Located at the edge of Keats Green by the cliff path down to the sea-front promenade, the Bay House Apartments is in a superb location with views out to sea from the balconies, close to Old Shanklin Town, and within easy walking distance of the high street shops. Our apartment was immaculately clean. From the moment we walked in the door, we were impressed by the standard and style of decor, the comfortable furniture, and the attention to detail in the provision of kitchen utensils, crockery, etc. The beds were extremely comfortable, too. Communication from Louise prior to the visit and after our arrival was first-class. We enjoyed our visit to the island so much but it was enhanced by knowing our accommodation was top quality and excellent value for money.
