Solent Landing Overview
First Impressions
You know what struck me first about Solent Landing? It’s not trying to be something it isn’t. This four-star property sits quietly in Bembridge on the Isle of Wight, and honestly, the moment you pull up, you get why couples rate this place so highly. The building has that understated British charm — nothing flashy, just solid and welcoming. I mean, when you’re dealing with a 9.1 guest rating, you expect something special, but this place delivers it without any fanfare.
The Location Sweet Spot
Here’s the thing about Bembridge — it’s one of those Isle of Wight spots that locals actually love, not just tourists. Solent Landing sits right where you want to be, close enough to the harbor that you can smell the salt air but tucked away from any summer crowds. The recent guest rating of 9.6 for location isn’t just numbers — you’re literally minutes from some gorgeous coastal walks, and the Bembridge Windmill is practically around the corner. What I really appreciated was having that free private parking right on site, because let’s be honest, finding a decent parking spot near the coast can be a nightmare during peak season.
Your Home Base
The room I stayed in felt more like a well-appointed flat than a typical hotel space. There’s something refreshingly unpretentious about how they’ve done the interiors — comfortable without being stuffy, modern touches without losing that coastal cottage feel. The windows actually open properly (you’d be surprised how rare that is), so you can let in that lovely sea breeze. I found myself spending way more time in the room than I usually would at hotels, partly because it was just so comfortable, and partly because the views across the Solent are genuinely lovely.
The Bembridge Experience
What makes this place work isn’t just the accommodation itself — it’s how perfectly positioned you are to explore this corner of the island. Bembridge Beach is an easy stroll away, and if you’re into sailing or just watching boats, the harbor area is absolutely perfect for an evening wander. The village has a couple of solid pubs and that brilliant little lifeboat station that’s worth a visit. Actually, I ended up chatting with some locals who mentioned that this area stays lively year-round, not like some coastal spots that completely shut down after summer.
Why Guests Love It
I think couples gravitate toward Solent Landing because it strikes that perfect balance — it’s romantic without being overly fussy, comfortable without being boring. The staff clearly know what they’re doing (you can tell from how smoothly everything runs), and there’s this relaxed atmosphere that makes you want to slow down and actually enjoy your time away. Plus, with that top-notch location rating, you’re never stuck wondering what to do next. Whether you want to explore the island’s walking trails, pop over to nearby Sandown, or just sit by the water with a good book, you’re perfectly positioned to do whatever strikes your fancy.

This is a lovely place to stay if you want to access the beach. The house itself is modern and comfortable with everything you will need. Parking is secure and Bembridge town also has everything you'd want for shops, takeaways etc, whilst still retaining a rural feel. The coastal walk from the house is alo well worth doing.
