Rookley Villa, 3 Bedroom Family Apartment, Ventnor Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Rookley Villa, 3 Bedroom Family Apartment, Ventnor on Marlborough Road, you immediately get that “oh, this is going to be good” feeling. The Victorian villa has this elegant charm that’s been beautifully preserved — you know, the kind of place where someone clearly cared about maintaining the original character. I mean, Ventnor itself has this lovely seaside town vibe, but finding a proper family apartment that doesn’t feel cramped or touristy? That’s actually harder than you’d think on the Isle of Wight.
The Space and Layout
Honestly, the three-bedroom setup works brilliantly for families or groups who want their own space. Each room has been thoughtfully arranged — not just thrown together like some holiday rentals where you feel like you’re living in someone’s storage unit. The kitchen is properly equipped too, which matters when you’re staying somewhere for more than a night or two. You’ll find yourself actually wanting to cook breakfast rather than feeling like you have to because there’s nowhere decent nearby (though there are plenty of good spots if you prefer to venture out).
Location Perks
What I love about this four-star place is how it sits in Ventnor — you’re close enough to the seafront that you can easily walk down for morning coffee or evening strolls, but far enough up the hill that you get those lovely views and a bit of peace. The location feedback mentions couples rating it highly, and I get why — there’s something romantic about those Victorian streets leading down to the water. But honestly, families seem to love it just as much because the beach is accessible without being right on your doorstep with all the noise.
What Makes It Special
The property highlights mention it’s highly rated by recent guests for its top location, and after staying there, that makes complete sense. Ventnor has this microclimate thing going on — it’s often warmer and sunnier than the rest of the island, which locals will tell you about with genuine pride. From Rookley Villa, you can walk to the Cascade (that’s the main shopping area) in about five minutes, or head down to the Spyglass Inn if you want proper pub food with a view. The apartment itself feels like a home rather than a rental — someone’s put real thought into the details.
Why Guests Love It
Look, there’s plenty of accommodation on the Isle of Wight, but finding something that balances space, character, and location isn’t always easy. This place gets the mix right — you’ve got room to spread out, you’re in one of the island’s most charming towns, and you’re not paying through the nose for it. The 8.5 rating reflects what you actually experience: a well-maintained property where you can settle in properly. Whether you’re planning romantic walks along the undercliff or need space for the whole family to decompress after beach days, Rookley Villa delivers without any of the usual holiday rental compromises.
Hotel on the Isle of Wight reservations spike for Walking Festival weeks, so hikers secure rooms months ahead.

The flat was beautifully decorated and spacious. The location on the south side of the island was ideal for walks and trips to places worth visiting. Although there was no specific place to park in front of the property, there was a carpark close by.

Lovely sized property and particularly liked the double bedroom and bathroom at basement level which offered an added element of privacy for guests sleeping in that room. Would particularly suit an older child or family member that wants there own space.
