  Everything! Accommodation was amazing, extremely clean and decorated beautifully. Location was perfect for us and only 5 minutes walk from the beach. Kitchen was well equipped. Bed was very comfortable and amazingly the room was a perfect temperature throughout our stay despite it being one of the hottest weeks of the year with temperatures soaring outside! The private outdoor area was a lovely place to sit in the morning for a cup of tea and evening for a glass of wine! The hosts were lovely and very accommodating. We were provided with tea/coffee, milk, bread, cereal, eggs and even a bottle of wine, which we thought was a lovely touch. We would highly recommend this place and would definitely stay again if we were to visit the Isle of Wight again.

  Lovely compact self-contained apartment in a great location in the centre of the historic old village of Shanklin and yet only a 10 minute walk to the beach. Very comfortable bed. Complimentary welcome breakfast pack was greatly appreciated. Pleasant hosts. Only metres to bus stops and a 10 minute walk to supermarkets – a car is not needed here.

  Met outside and immediately made to feel welcome. The apartment was of the highest quality – no complaints anywhere. There was even a bottle of wine in the fridge!
  The location was ideal. With a car, nowhere on the island is more than 40 minutes away. Parking was on the main driveway outside the apartment, which was very handy in a busy town.

  Little Gem. Shanklin Old Village.
  We have been hiring cottages in this country and France for a very long time and Little Gem rates up with the best, both in facilities and location.
  Paradoxically, it is surrounded by one of the Island 's main tourist locations Shanklin Old Village and Chine, yet is very peaceful and quiet. It is in an extension of an 1830 villa and includes a well appointed kitchen, shower room and large bed-sitting room with south facing balcony overlooking a well designed Sub Tropical garden. Because it is located on a slope a breeze has kept us pleasantly cool when hot and the thick stone walls would keep the interior warm in the coldest of English Winters.
  My wife and I are so grateful for the many kindnesses the owners (Mr and Mrs Green) have shown us and who keep the property spotlessly clean, well maintained and tidy. I have no hesitation in recommending this "Little Gem" and shall certainly return in years to come ourselves.
