First Impressions

When I first pulled up to Little Osney in Bembridge, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from this four-star property tucked away on the Isle of Wight. The building itself has this understated charm — it’s not trying to impress you with flashy exteriors, but there’s something immediately welcoming about the place. What struck me right away was how peaceful it felt, even though you’re just minutes from the village center. The parking situation is brilliant too — having your own guaranteed spot right on-site is such a relief when you’re exploring the island.

Location & Neighborhood

Bembridge is one of those spots that locals know about but somehow stays off the main tourist radar. You’re perfectly positioned here — close enough to walk to the village’s cafes and shops, but far enough from any crowds to actually relax. The coastal walks from here are incredible, and I mean that. You can reach Bembridge Ledge in about ten minutes on foot, which gives you some of the best sunset views on the island. What I really appreciated was how the hotel staff seemed to genuinely know the area — they pointed me toward a little seafood place that I never would have found otherwise.

The Room

My room was exactly what you’d want after a day of exploring — comfortable without being fussy. The bed was properly comfortable (you know how hit-or-miss hotel beds can be), and the bathroom was spotless with decent water pressure. Nothing felt cramped, which can be an issue in some coastal properties. The windows actually open properly, so you get that fresh sea air without relying on air conditioning. I particularly liked the little seating area by the window — perfect for morning coffee while planning the day ahead.

Dining & Amenities

The breakfast situation here is well thought out, though I should mention the restaurant operates more like a cozy dining room than a formal affair. They focus on local ingredients, which makes sense given how close you are to fresh seafood and island-grown produce. The staff actually remembers your coffee preferences after a day or two, which is a nice touch. There’s also a comfortable lounge area where you can settle in with a drink in the evening — nothing fancy, but it works perfectly for unwinding after exploring the coastline.

What really sets Little Osney apart is how it manages to feel both professional and personal. The location rating speaks for itself — couples consistently rate it a perfect 10, and after staying here, I completely understand why. You’re getting that peaceful, romantic Isle of Wight experience without feeling isolated from everything interesting. The staff strikes just the right balance between being helpful and giving you space to enjoy your stay. It’s the kind of place where you actually look forward to coming back at the end of the day, rather than just using it as somewhere to sleep between activities.
