What really sold me though was the parking — it’s completely free, which is honestly a godsend on the Isle of Wight where finding a decent spot can be a nightmare during peak season. The proximity to local attractions and transport links makes exploring the island incredibly convenient.

The Room Experience

My room had this lovely mix of traditional charm and modern comfort that you don’t always get right. The bed was properly comfortable, not just hotel-marketing comfortable, and the bathroom was spotless with good water pressure — those little things that actually matter when you’re staying somewhere. The windows looked out over the town, and I loved being able to open them properly for fresh air instead of being stuck with recycled hotel atmosphere. Each accommodation features thoughtfully chosen furnishings that complement the building’s Victorian heritage while providing contemporary amenities.

  The host was prompt with all support and enquiries. Cottage was very sweet and clearly, a lot of thought had been put into the decor. All expectations were met! Also loved the book collection and the coffee/tea/biscuits/snacks were appreciated. Being opposite a grocery shop was also a huge, unexpected bonus! 🙂
