It’s about a 10-minute drive into Ryde proper if you need shops or restaurants, which feels like the perfect balance.

The Accommodation

My room was more spacious than I anticipated, with large windows that really make the most of those countryside views. The décor strikes a nice balance between modern comfort and that country house feel — nothing too fancy, but everything feels well-thought-out and genuinely comfortable. The beds are properly comfortable (you know how hit-or-miss hotel beds can be), and there’s enough storage space that you don’t feel like you’re living out of a suitcase. What I really appreciated was how quiet everything was — you actually sleep well here.

The property doesn’t try to be everything to everyone, which I actually prefer. There’s parking right on-site, which removes that usual stress of wondering where you’ll leave your car. The staff seem to genuinely know the area well — they gave me some great recommendations for local walks and even suggested a pub in nearby Binstead that I never would have found otherwise. It’s clear they understand that people come here to unwind rather than for flashy amenities, and they’ve tailored the experience accordingly.

This place works because it delivers on what it promises without any pretense. The 9.3 rating makes sense when you experience how well everything comes together — the peaceful setting, the comfortable accommodations, and that genuine country park atmosphere.   Lovely large cabin in a quiet location. The cabin is in a rural setting not far from Ryde and Fishbourne ferry. The cabin is very well equiped and spacious – both bedrooms have walk in storage and it is well laid out. The pre-arrival information was really helpful.

  The lodge was stunning. Incredibly well looked after and was well stocked with everything we needed facility wise. It was a home away from home. The location was beautiful and it was easy to get around by taxi on the island. We also enjoyed completing both of the Wallace and Gromit jigsaws! Massive local Tesco was also very handy.
